Well times they are a changing….and the Hale Dace Program is changing too! I am sad to announce that I am resigning as head coach of the dance team. I love this team like a family and it will always be a part of my soul.
BUT we are super excited to announce that the amazing Cristhian Guzman has accepted the head coaching position and supreme TH dance god ūüôā She is going to lead this team to the next level and we couldn’t be more excited! Bitter sweet is the flavor of the evening, but it will be awesome in the long run! Th family continues to grow!

Tryouts 2013

Posted: May 3, 2013 in News, Pics

Well as one year ends another one begins…with TRYOUTS! ¬†This year brings quite a few new faces, and some returning ones too. ¬†As usual with TH dance, it’s always an adventure figuring out who will take that step into our crazy little world and will become a part of our Hale Dance family.

This year, we are taking even more dancers into our program to foster some time for growth and learning.  We want to give as many people as possible the opportunity to learn to dance!  We are so excited to have such an amazing group of young men and women be a part of this organization.  This year TH Dance is going to be better than ever!

We will miss u all…and get ready for the new team in 2013!!!

UDA Nationals 2013

Posted: February 13, 2013 in Events, Pics, Videos

Once a year, the most amazing dance teams in the USA get together to compete at the Universal Dance Association’s National Dance Team Championship (UDA NDTC). ¬†This dance team competition is held at Disney World in Orlando, FL. ¬†For the past 3 years we have had tremendous highs and horrific lows at this event and were excited to try our hand again.

We arrived at the Tulsa airport bright and early on Friday Feb 1.  Everyone was packed and ready to fly!

After some in flight naps, snacks and a little coffee we arrived safely in sunny Florida!

Upon arrival at the UDA tents at Disney’s All Star resort, we were greeted by some friendly (yet a little scary ūüôā faces! ¬†Pictures of our 2011 team were printed on the tent’s promo images!

Then it was off to dinner, practice and a good nights rest before the big day of competition.

The next morning, we arose early to start doing hair and makeup.  Thank goodness we had the undeniable expertise of our dear friend Caitlin and our amazing choreographer Cristhian.

After everyone got thur hur did and thur face on, we were off to Disney’s Wide World of Sports complex to compete!

before performance

Unfortunatly, this day was not our best performance.  Our beginning energy was great!  But we had a few mishaps that, in the end cost us too many points, and kept us from advancing.  You can watch our performance on the UDA website search: Nathan Hale.

It was once again a heartbreaking year for us. ¬†It’s difficult to watch months of hard work, perfecting and desire get crushed for a few in the moment mistakes. ¬†But thus is the game we play. ¬†There are no 2nd halfs; no time outs. ¬†We only get 2 min, 1 chance to show the world what we can do. ¬†This time we just didn’t rise to the occassion.

Fortunatly, we were at the most magical place on earth and were then free to enjoy Disney’s parks.

It wasn’t the trip we hoped it would be, but it was still an amazing experience. ¬†THANK YOU so much to all our sponsors, friends and families who helped us get here. ¬†We are so thankful for all these people who are supportive of our love to dance! ¬†I don’t know what is in store for Nathan Hale next, but we will always be DANCING!

The night before….

The night before nationals…packing, practicing, and dreaming. Tonight we had our last practice and we were so blessed to have such amazing people just support us.
We revealed our t-shirt that our sponsors purchased for us. Thank u so much State Farm, Mid First Bank and the Burdettes!

And more than anything, the send off from our friends, families and dear alumni filled our hearts. Thank u to everyone who had been a part of making this program what it is. We couldn’t do it without you all!
Wish us luck as we head to the Universal Dance Association National Dance Team Championships!!!!!

Dancing across NEO!

Posted: January 26, 2013 in Events, Pics

The amazing people at Northeastern Oklahoma College invited us to their campus for the weekend; for multiple performances and a campus tour.
We arrived Friday night to a packed house attending a hosted NEO basketball tournament. After two amazing performances, we were ready to head back to the hotel.

A big pow wow, some team bonding and a little bit of tomfoolery later, we all got a great nights rest.
Wake up and head to campus for a lovely morning tour of the NEO campus. Josh, our guide, was a knowledgable and kind ambassador of the Norsemen culture. We loved seeing the college life that lay waiting for some of our seniors.

Next we headed back to the gym for 3 more performances! But not before we flash mobbed the courtyard with a little TH love ūüôā

Such a wonderful weekend! Feeling good about all the preparation we are getting for our big dance next weekend! Thank you NEO and Lori for making this weekend such a success!

Dancing for a Cure

Posted: January 12, 2013 in Events, Pics

A few years ago, a good friend and local dance legend lost her father to cancer. As a tribute to his memory, Kim Miller decided to create the Dance for a Cure event. This dance showcase is where local teams come to perform not for a trophy, but for a cause. To raise awareness and funds for a disease that effects all of our lives. Teams from Tulsa and surrounding areas dance their hearts out as a tribute to those who are battling and in memory of those who have lost their battle with cancer. To date, DFAC has raised over $100K for cancer research and families! It’s a wonderful event and we are so proud to be a part of it.

Holiday Family Time

Posted: December 20, 2012 in Events, Pics

As the season gets hectic and higher stress, it’s important that we take some precious moments and spend them together…not as a team but as family. Celebrating the holidays with our dance family with a lovely meal and warm conversation is a tradition we have treasured for 3 years now. We are so grateful to have each other and to be friends as well as teammates. I am thankful for each of them, which makes this time so special. Happy Holidays TH!
